Death — Arifa Begum

"Let me in o friend!" the Angel said, "Open the door, and get up from your bed. If you don't allow me in I’ll walk through it like a jinn". The man held a gun in his right hand, ready to defy the Angles. "I'll point my gun toward your head. you dare come in I ’ll shot you dead". By now the Angel was in the room saying "O friend! Prepare 4 ur doom. Foolish man Angels never die put down your gun and don't sigh". …

It was early in the morning at four,

When death knocked upon a bedroom door,

Who is there? The sleeping one cried.

I'm Malakul Mawt, the angel of death, let me inside.

At once, the man began to shiver,

As one sweating in deadly fever,

He shouted to his sleeping wife,

Don't let him take away my life.

Please go away, O Angel of Death!

Leave me alone; I'm not ready yet.

My family on me depends,

Give me a chance, O please prepense!

The angel knocked again and again,

Friend! I'll take your life without a pain,

Tis your soul Allah requires,

I come not with my own desire..

Bewildered, the man began to cry,

O Angel I'm so afraid to die,

I'll give you gold and be your slave,

Don't send me to the unlit grave.

Let me in, O Friend! The Angel said,

Open the door; get up from your bed,

If you do not allow me in,

I will walk through it, like a Jinn.

The man held a gun in his right hand,

Ready to defy the Angel's stand.

I'll point my gun, towards your head,

You dare come in; I'll shoot you dead.

By now the Angel was in the room,

Saying, O Friend! Prepare for you doom.

Foolish man, Angels never die,

Put down your gun and do not sigh.

Why are you afraid! Tell me O man,

To die according to Allah's plan?

Come smile at me, do not be grim,

Be Happy to return to Him.

O Angel! I bow my head in shame,

I had no time to take Allah's Name.

From morning till dusk, I made my wealth,

Not even caring for my health.

Allah's command I never obeyed,

Nor five times a day I ever prayed.

A Ramadan came and a Ramadan went,

But no time had I to repent.

The Hajj was already FARD on me,

But I would not part with my money.

All charities I did ignore,

Taking usury more and more.

Sometimes I sipped my favorite wine,

With flirting women I sat to dine..

O Angel! I appeal to you,

Spare my life for a year or two.

The Laws of Quran I will obey,

I'll begin SALAT this very day.

My Fast and Hajj, I will complete,

And keep away from self-conceit.

I will refrain from usury,

And give all my wealth to charity,

Wine and wenches I will detest,

Allah's oneness I will attest.

We Angels do what Allah demands,

We cannot go against His commands.

Death is ordained for everyone,

Father, mother, daughter or son.

I'm afraid this moment is your last,

Now be reminded, of your past,

I do understand your fears,

But it is now too late for tears.

You lived in this world, two score and more,

Never did you, your people adore.

Your parents, you did not obey,

Hungry beggars, you turned away.

Your two ill-gotten, female offspring,

In nightclubs, for livelihood they sing.

Instead of making more Muslims,

You made your children non-Muslims.

You ignored the Mua'dhin Adhaan,

Nor did you read the Holy Quran.

Breaking promises all your life,

Backbiting friends, and causing strife.

From hoarded goods, great profits you made,

And your poor workers, you underpaid.

Horses and cards were your leisure,

Moneymaking was your pleasure.

You ate vitamins and grew more fat,

With the very sick, you never sat.

A pint of blood you never gave,

Which could a little baby save?

O Human, you have done enough wrong,

You bought good properties for a song.

When the farmers appealed to you,

You did not have mercy, tis true.

Paradise for you? I cannot tell,

Undoubtedly you will dwell in hell.

There is no time for you to repent,

I'll take your soul for which I am sent.

The ending however, is very sad,

Eventually the man became mad

With a cry, he jumped out of bed,

And suddenly, he fell down dead.

O Reader! Take moral from here,

You never know, your end may be near

Change your living and make amends

For heaven, on your deeds depends.

If this poem inspires you,

It can help someone too.

At least take sometime, and do not make it ban

And send it to as many people as you can.

What do you have for your END?

Take Care with: The END

The End

Big Ship that Landed on an Island: Life of this World and Hereafter in IslamThere was once a big ship that landed on an Island. The Captain said to the people: "Dear passengers, we will anchor here for you to gather provision and admire the nature and we shall move on with our journey in a few hours time".All passengers got off and roamed around the island in groups. Some 'Wise' gentlemen and ladies walked peacefully, collected some souvenirs and food for the journey and returned quickly to the ship. Since they were the first ones back, they got the best and comfortable places on the ship. The second group of 'Forgetful' people walked, played and enjoyed their time. They admired the island and explored its nature. But soon they remembered the ship, so they ran back, without any food and souvenirs. Coming on board, they were tired, but alas the best seats were taken, so they had to do with the less comfortable ones. The third group of 'Greedy and Lustful' people got amazed by the wonders of this island and they began to collect its plants and precious stones. After a while, having heard the call of their captain, they started… Read more »
Fish and Fisherman Story: Life After Death and Hereafter in IslamMany people have been on this planet and many arrogant have gone under this earth. Those Kings, Pharaohs, Nimrods and many more… arrogantly claimed to be the God but they have died! Not just this, they could not even know when they would die! All of us might know our date-of-birth or place-of-birth, but who knows one's date-of-death or place-of-death! However, as long as we don't know when we will die, doors of repentance are open for us, Insha Allah.A little fish considers her ocean to be the only universe; after all, how big is an ocean for a little fish! Once a big fish advised the little fish about fishermen outside the water but she could not be convinced to believe that there could be anything 'beyond' this under water world. The big fish gave descriptions of the fishermen and their tools (ship, baits, net, sinker… etc) and warned her to stay away from those things. One day, the little fish came across something strange and suddenly remembered what the elder big fish had said about fishermen and their tools. The little fish moved ahead saying, "There is no such… Read more »
No Escape From Death: A Real Life StoryAlmighty Allah (SWT) made Prophet Solomon / Sulaiman (as) King of a vast kingdom, which included His entire creation. The Jinn and men obeyed his will and even the birds adhered to his commands, to the extent of using their wings to provide shelter for him. He was also given many other powers such as being able to talk to animals and control the wind so that it could carry him wherever he wished to go. Prophet Solomon (as) was blessed with an extraordinary power of perception and intelligence. It is narrated that one day, a man entered the court of Prophet Solomon (as), looked around at all the people and went out again. When the court adjourned, one of the people present approached Prophet Sulaiman (as) and asked him whether he knew this strange man."The person you saw was the angel of death (Izrael)" replied Prophet Solomon (as). The man was taken aback and looked worried."Why was he staring at me as though he wanted to take my soul?" he asked."What do you want me to do?" enquired Prophet Sulaiman (as)."O Solomon!" exclaimed the man. "You have power over the wind. Command it… Read more »
THE DREAM OF DEATHOnce upon a time there was a man in the jungle enjoying a nice day watching the equatorial lush green foliage and the exotic animal life. Suddenly, the man heard the movement of a lion behind him and so ran for his life. But the man couldn’t escape and came face to face with the lion. As he was thinking quickly of another way to escape, he saw a deep well to his right. His options were narrowed between drowning in the well and being chewed by the hungry lion. The man decided to jump into the well hoisting himself with a rope tied to the top of the well for drawing water. As he reached the bottom of the well, the man saw a huge man-eating snake taking a nap at the bottom; the man pulled himself up in the middle of the well, suspended between a hungry lion on the top and a sleeping snake at the bottom.Meanwhile the man noticed that two mice, one black and one white were chewing the rope he was hanging on, making it thinner and thinner. The man began to swing with the rope hitting the sides of the… Read more »
THE DAY I DIE!By Saleh AliAs-salamu Aleykum War rahmatuAllahi Wabarakatuh, Brothers and Sisters,Below is an eye-opening fiction recently published in the Al Jumuah Magazine. Although a fiction, it touches on the basic challenge the human race face in the course of achieving the main purpose of living- which is to commit ourselves entirely to the worship of Allah alone- both in the open and in secret- in all aspects of our lives. The Quran speaks eloquently of the need for us to be on guard against the 'disease of the heart' that makes us fall prey and some scholars call this disease of the heart the foundation of all other sins: this is called ghafila or heedlessnes. For instance the Qur'an says in the following verses:“Many are the jinns and men we have made for Hell: They have hearts wherewith they understand not, eyes wherewith they see not, and ears wherewith they hear not. They are like cattle- nay more misguided: for they are heedless.” (7:179)So, this is a serious matter as most sins and mistakes are committed while in this trance-like state of mind- a moment of madness as they call it. May Allah increase and strenghthen our eman… Read more »
